Hello, I’m Nicola Vallance a graphic designer.
Before setting up Rockpool Graphic Design in 2005. I freelanced in corporate design and advertising in Sydney for a few years, working with names such as KPMG, University of NSW, Sydney Olympic Games.
I’ve also been known to work for bigger agencies in and around Glasgow and have also completed projects all over the UK remotely. Working with such clients as the NHS Ayrshire and Arran, ACE cruises, Ayrshire and Arran Tourism.
I attended the Sydney School of Graphic Arts and started out working as an apprentice typesetter at a large print firm. Under the guidance of a brilliant art team I learned the importance of clean accurate layout skills and design, which is hard to come by these days! Soon after graduating I left to try new things and landed in magazine publishing for a while creating layouts and retouching images for Cleo, Woman’s Weekly and Dolly magazine. I’ve tried all sorts of design environments, design agencies, advertising agencies and in-house working for banks and superannuation firms before landing here in the UK and setting up on my own.
Today I work (and continue to work) for a range of fantastic clients from corporate, government and small business. I’ve met some great people along the way and when I’m not working on a project you’ll find me walking down Prestwick beach or somewhere getting some cake.
